Chopsticks Master Challenge Terms and Conditions


The Contest is operated and sponsored by Marcus & Marcus International Limited (the “Company”). By entering the Contest, you have fully understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

  1. Start / End Dates
    1. The Contest starts on 15 April, 2022 and ends on 31 May, 2022 (the “Contest Period”). 
  2. Who can Enter
    1. To be eligible to participate, you must be in a city with Marcus & Marcus in Australia, Baltic States, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong SAR , Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, UAE, and Vietnam. 
    2. Children ages 2- 5 with a set of Marcus & Marcus Kids Training Chopsticks could participate in the contest.
  3. How to Enter
    1. Steps to enter the contest:
      1. To enter the Contest, you need to purchase MARCUS & MARCUS Kids Training Chopsticks.
      2. Scan the QR code on the packaging to download the Chopsticks Master Challenge AR Filter
      3. Demonstrate how skillful you can be in completing one of the challenges from the Chopsticks Master Challenge AR Filter
      4. Submit the Chopsticks Master Challenge photo/video with the online form
      5. Share the photo/video on Instagram or Weibo and tag @marcusnmarcus and #MNMChopsticksMaster
    2. Participants are allowed to submit more than one submission
    3. The Company may contact participants to verify their Instagram or Weibo hashtag Submission was a Submission and to verify permission to repost the Submission on the Contest Website. If permission to repost is not granted or the Submission is not verified, it may be disqualified.
    4. All Submission information and photo/videos shall be collectively referred to as the “Submissions” or each a “Submission”. By submitting a Submission, participants acknowledge that they have read and understood these Terms and Conditions, and agreed to abide and be bound by them, and the decisions of Company, including their decisions regarding the interpretation and application of these Terms and Conditions, made in its sole and absolute discretion, which shall be final and binding with respect to all aspects of the Contest and the awarding of prizes.
    5. Company will not verify receipt of Submissions. Submissions that are late, lost, stolen, undelivered, illegible, contain false information, damaged, misdirected, mutilated, garbled or incomplete, altered or otherwise irregular, generated by script, macro or other automated or mechanical means, that have been submitted through illicit means or by any means which subvert the Submission process or that do not conform with or satisfy any or all of the conditions set out in the Terms and Conditions will be void. Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same email address. Any attempt by any entrant to obtain more than the stated number of Submissions by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that entrant’s Submissions and that entrant may be disqualified. Use of any automated program to enter will result in disqualification.
  4. Technical Specification for Submitted Videos
    1. To qualify for the Contest, the photo/ video must be taken:
      • by you personally during the Contest Period;
      • with Marcus & Marcus Kids Training Chopsticks
    2. The photo/video(s) must be submitted as a high-resolution .jpg/.mp4/.mov (as high as your camera or phone will allow).
    3. The photo/video must not contain violence, profanity, sex or direct attacks on individuals or organizations.
    4. Photo/videos may be edited but Marcus & Marcus Kids Training Chopsticks may not be altered.
    5. Each Submission shall conform to the following content restrictions (“Content Restrictions”), failing which shall result in immediate disqualification and removal from the Contest in the Company’s sole and absolute discretion.
    6. Your Submission must be original to you and you must have all necessary rights in and to the photo/video for the purposes of the Contest. Your photo/video must be your original creation and each Submission must be unique.
    7. It is your sole responsibility to make sure that the person(s) depicted in your photo/video have given their explicit consent for the photo/video to be submitted/uploaded in the Contest and that no copyrights are violated by submitting your Submission. Company may reject or remove any submitted photo/video if it believes in its sole discretion that such required consent has not been collected.
    8. The Submission must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene hateful, tortious, defamatory, slanderous or libelous (including without limitation nudity, violence, obscenity, profanity, pornography, illegal activity or anything offensive in nature);
    9. The Submission must not depict the Marcus & Marcus in any way that would constitute trade disparagement or defamation, contain any negative statements about Marcus & Marcus or its services or products, or defame or contain negative statements about any of the Marcus & Marcus’ customers;
    10. The Submission must not contain any identifiable third party products, trademarks, brands and/or logos, other than those of Company (e.g. any buildings, products appearing in your Submission must not contain any visible logos, trademarks or other third party materials unless the appropriate consents have been obtained
    11. The participants must certify and warrant that the submitted photo(s) does not violate the rights of a third party or any copyright. Marcus & Marcus is not responsible for intellectual property violations that might have resulted through the submissions of photos.
  5. Judging and Notification of Winners
    1. Submissions will be judged by a panel of judges selected by the Company, which may include members of the Company’s marketing team and its distributors (“the Brand Council”).
    2. All Submissions will be judged at the sole and absolute discretion of the Brand Council according to the following criteria in equal measure: (i) quality, meaning the brightness and evenness of illumination, contrast, resolution, geometry and colour; (ii) creativity and the skills to use Marcus & Marcus Kids Training Chopsticks; and (iii) uniqueness, meaning unlike anything else and originality. Each Submission will be given a score for each criteria as well as a total overall score.
    3. Winners will be announced on the Company’s Facebook, Instagram, Weibo and the Contest Website on June 10th, 2022 as follows and their names and photo/videos will be published on the Website
    4. The Company will contact the winners via the registered contact details (as the case may be) for prize notification. If any winner cannot be contacted with their registered contact details within 15 business days of first notification attempt, if any winner rejects his/her prize or in the event of non-compliance with these Terms and Conditions, such prize shall be forfeited and may be awarded to such other winner as shall be determined by the Company in its sole and absolute discretion. Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation shall be given and the Company shall not be liable whatsoever.
  6. Prizes
    1. 3 winners will be selected from all the participants in different countries, which are Australia, Baltic States, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong SAR , Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, UAE, and Vietnam.
    2. The Prize shall consist of the below:
      • Champion: LEGO Gift Card USD 200 + Marcus & Marcus coupon USD 100
      • 1st  Runner Up: Toys“R”Us Gift Card USD 100 + Marcus & Marcus coupon USD100
      • 2nd Runner Up: Toys“R”Us Gift Card USD 50 + Marcus & Marcus coupon USD100
  7. Rights and Ownership
    1. By submitting their photo/videos to Marcus & Marcus, participants agree to grant Marcus & Marcus the right to use the photo/videos in any manner and media, including without limitation, the right to publish, adapt, distribute, copy, display or translate in printed or electronic media even if they are not the winning entries.
    2. Marcus & Marcus agrees to mention the full name of the chosen contestant when used on social media, or other related materials.
  8. General
    1. Marcus & Marcus reserves the right to modify or cancel the contest or any of the arrangements, schedules, plans or other items directly or indirectly related to the contest, at any time and for any reason if deemed necessary.
    2. The personal information provided to Marcus & Marcus by the participants shall only be used for the purposes of this contest. All participants are entitled to access, cancel, oppose and rectify the details about the personal data (such as names, addresses, etc.) contained in the file by sending their request by email to
    3. The Company’s decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest.
    4. All participants and winners waive all rights to trial in any action or proceeding instituted in connection with the Contest and these Terms and Conditions.
    5. These Terms and Conditions shall be in English only, which language shall prevail, govern and control in all aspects, and all translated versions of these Terms and Conditions in any other language shall be for reference only and shall not be binding. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the English version and any translated version, the English version shall prevail.
